What is the difference between auditory modulation vs. tES?Updated 5 months ago

You may be familiar with auditory brain modulation from blue or white noise machines, or popular apps like Calm or Headspace. Auditory brain modulation functions similarly to listening to music, promoting sleep by creating an auditory environment conducive to rest.

Somnee, on the other hand, directly promotes sleep signals within the brain using a type of transcranial electrical stimulation (tES) called tACS. Somnee's tACS works by providing gentle electrical stimulation across specific frequencies and wavelengths to directly promote better sleep quality.

With every session, the Somnee headband fine-tunes these frequencies and bandwidths to your brain's unique sleep patterns so it becomes more effective at giving you deeply restorative sleep over time.
