Who can use Somnee?Updated 8 months ago

We designed Somnee for nearly any adult who wants to improve their sleep, but there are a few people who should not use it.

Somnee's intended use is for general wellness — not for the diagnosis, cure, prevention, or treatment of any disease or medical condition.

If you have any questions or concerns about your sleep health or Somnee's suitability for you, please consult your physician or primary health care provider before using the Somnee headband. Additionally, please never disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking advice.

You should not use Somenee if you:

  • are not capable of giving consent
  • are a woman who is pregnant or possibly pregnant (neurostimulation has not been thoroughly studied in pregnant women)
  • have an active, implanted medical device such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, or other neurostimulator
  • have a skull defect (i.e., plate in the skull or previous reconstructive skull surgery) or any implant in the portion of the skull overlying the brain (neurocranium)
  • have epilepsy or a history of seizures.

Additionally, individuals with acne or skin abrasions on their foreheads should wait for their skin to fully heal before using Somnee.
